Dr. Woo is a 3rd generation Vancouverite graduated from Science at UBC in 1985. After receiving his DMD from UBC in 1989 Dr. Woo entered a dental residency program at the UBC Hospital during which he developed a keen interest in advanced oral surgical procedures. For ten years Dr. Woo was a clinical instructor at UBC Dentistry Department of Oral Diagnosis. He has been placing and restoring various types of dental implants since 1999. He has successfully obtained both fellowship and diplomat standing from the world recognized International Congress of Oral Implantology (ICOI). He has been an active participant in a large number of specialists study clubs including Dr. Dwayne Karateew (Prosthodontic/Periodontics implantology), Dr. Jim Grisdale (Periodontics/implantology). Dr. Woo continues to study, participate and seek out updated surgical techniques to improve the results of treatment procedures for his patients. Dr. Woo and his staff has also received extensive training in providing intravenous sedation to help alleviate anxiety for his patients during dental procedures.
While not practising dentistry, Dr. Woo finds time to work out at the gym and play his electric guitar. Since Dr. Woo has hung up his skates after playing ice hockey in an adult league for 9 years he now prefers river and ocean fishing with Dr. Yung when possible.
